The Send Feedback link at the top of the windows in the Windows 7 Beta are really annoying. Why? Because the link is placed right next to the minimise/maximise/close buttons and is easily clicked by accident.
I have actually sent feedback to Microsoft about this ill-placement of the Send Feedback link, but have not yet received a reply, and to be honest, I doubt I ever will.
I had a hunt through the registry and found the means to remove the Send Feedback link, it’s really quite simple. Here is how to do it:
- Open the Registry Editor by typing REGEDIT in the Start Menu search box.
- Navigate through HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop
- Locate the DWORD FEEDBACKTOOLENABLED. Double click it
- Change the VALUE to 0 (zero)
- Close the Registry Editor and restart your computer.
Now the Send Feedback link is gone!
If you want to re-enable it for any reason, repeat the steps above, however at step 6 change the VALUE to 3 (three).
